So it's true, I haven't written a blog since March 10. Which means I haven't written since we've been home. Which is awful. Better late than never, I suppose.
There really isn't too much going on in Albuquerque. Cody has been studying Calculus nonstop to prepare for his freshman year at UNM. We're both still unemployed, for me, it's not from lack of trying. It seems half the job postings out there are scams and the other half, you need SOME sort of degree just to get your resume looked at. We went into the library yesterday and they were training someone new, so I immediately went home and looked online. There were a few jobs for the city of Abq and I intend on keeping my eyes peeled for a library position.
The newest thought that's been tossed around is nursing. UNM has a great (yet competitive) nursing program. To get a degree in nursing, it would take 16 months. Which means I could start working, start a career, not have to worry about when a good time to start a family is, and decide what type of masters I want to study. (YES, starting a family is a major concern. It's something both Cody & I discussed even BEFORE we got married, and it's something that is more important to me than any career. We're just going to play it safe and make sure we're set up completely before we start one.) So once I start working, which hopefully I will soon, I'll probably take a science class or two at CNM to get my GPA up to competitive standards.
Our house is fantastic. My apologies to those of you (DAD) who got the facebook link and signed up for it just to see the pictures. I don't know why I didn't just post them on here. :) We're finally settled, with just a few things left to get, and absolutely loving it. There are no bugs here, the weather is dry, and it's almost always sunny. Pretty much the opposite of Okinawa! Cody is in a rock band (www.myspace.com/misterscary1) and they are all pretty awesome guys. Chuck & Deidra aren't just the only family we have here, they're pretty much our best friends, too. Which is nice.
So that's about it for updates. I'm still trying to think of a name for a vegan recipe blog. I got this great vegan cook book at the library yesterday and I can't put it down. I think I might try COMPLETE veganism for a month just to see how it goes. Oh, cheese. How I'll miss you...
